“Before filming the scene where Bergman and Montand, who have accidentally run into Philip [Perkins’ character] in a nightclub, take the boy home drunk, he decided to do it actually as “stinko” as he could possibly be without falling down. It was a night shoot, so at dinner that evening with Montand, Bergman and Litvak, Tony ate very little and consumed one full demi-bouteille of white whine himself. Not a drinker, he was so inebriated by the time he arrived on the set that he decided to go all the way and drank some Scotch that Bergman had on hand.

In an unusually sloppy display, he ended up laying his head on her shoulder, rhapsodizing about the time when, as a fourteen-year-old, he woke Jane up at some ungodly hour so that they could be first in the theater on the opening day of Notorious, Bergman’s second Hitchcock film. After the scene, Tony went home and was sick.” (Anthony Perkins: Split Image, Charles Winecoff)

So many feelings arose while watching this movie. Especially during this scene.
